Firm History
The precursor of the Law Office of Steven M. Dunn, P.A. began with Steven Dunn's father, Irving Dunn, who founded the firm of Dunn and Johnson in 1951. Early in life Irving began working as a newspaper boy in West Palm Beach to help his family overcome the poverty of the Great Depression. Irving Dunn served his country in World War II by enlisting in the Navy, and was stationed in North Africa. After the War, he went to college, and with the help of the GI Bill, obtained his law degree, gained admission to the Florida Bar, and entered private law practice. Steven Dunn joined the firm in 1985 and has carried on the tradition of representing working people, the disabled, and the elderly.
Areas of Focus
Over the years, the firm has successfully handled well over a thousand cases in the areas of serious injury, wrongful death, maritime law, longshore claims, social security disability, State of Florida disability retirement, and all types of wrongfully denied or delayed insurance claims, including long-term disability claims. In more recent years as the need for long-term healthcare has arisen, our firm has shifted its focus to meet the demand for representation in long-term healthcare/home health care insurance claims.
